This means: In order to heat 300 litres of water in an accumula-
tor tank from 30° to 60°, this requires a heat output of 37683 kJ
(= 37683 kWs) (without taking into account any losses or heat
extraction in the system). This heat output corresponds to around
10.5 kWh. At an assumed average output of approx. 5.0 kW in the
SENSO M H
O, it takes approx. 2.0 hours to heat the whole accu-
2
mulator tank of 300 litres. This calculation is based on the uniform
heating of the whole volume of water in the tank.
In the case of a suitable design for the heating system, the hot
water will be stored in layers in the accumulator tank e.g. in a stra-
tified accumulator tank! This will ensure that hot water is available
after a short heating period and that the heat can already be utili-
sed shortly after the water has begun circulating in the SENSO M
H
O. Only the surplus energy not needed for heating is then stored
2
in the accumulator tank.
On very cold winter days, it can occur that the SENSO M H
in operation for approximately 12 hours. The resulting heat out-
put in the water section corresponds then theoretically to 60 kWh.
This heat output would be sufficient to heat approx. 1700 litres of
water (from 30° to 60°). However, in theses circumstances heat
will generally be constantly extracted so that no overheating of the
accumulator tank (> 90°) will occur.

RETURN TEMPERATURE INCREASE

As a general rule, the SENSO M H
return temperature increase. In operation, the supply flow tempe-
rature should be over 65°C and the return temperature at least
60°C. In order to ensure that these temperatures are guaranteed,
a circulation pump is to be installed in such a way it will only
start-up when the temperature has reached 65°C. To reduce the
danger of overshooting the dew point, a controllable return tem-
perature increase is generally to be installed. This device controls
and adjusts the temperature of the water return at the entry to the
water heat exchanger to the adjusted value.
We recommend the use of a load unit (heat charger) type LTC
141 from the company ESBE, which is optionally available, or a
comparable load unit (heat charger). The use of other solutions
(e.g. a four-way mixer) has not proved successful in practice and
is, therefore, not recommended.
