In general, a distance to the wall of at least 50 mm must be main-
tained. For safety reasons and for the purposes of fire protection,
larger clearance distances must be ensured for walls needing protec-
tion or for combustible construction materials.
A minimum distance of 100 mm (Fig. 2a) is to be maintained between
construction materials, furniture, decoration or curtains to the rear of
the stove. No combustible objects may be placed within a distance of
500 mm above the fireplace!
No combustible construction components, furniture, curtains or dec-
oration may be placed within a distance of 800 mm of the firebox
door in the thermal radiation field (Fig. 2a – 2d). This distance can
be reduced to 550 mm when a radiation protection plate ventilated
on both sides is installed between the fireplace and the combustible
construction elements (please read more about this in the FeuVo and
DIN 18896).
INSTALLATION IN A CORNER:
If the stove is assembled as shown in figure 2b, a minimum clearance
distance of 130 mm is to be maintained at the sides. If the stove is
assembled as shown in figure 2c, a minimum clearance distance to
the rear of 100 mm and to the sides of 196 mm must be maintained.
If wall coverings made out of combustible materials and without ther-
mal radiation protection have been fitted, the clearance distance to
the side is to be increased from 196 mm to 470 mm.
If the stove is assembled as shown in figure 2d, a minimum clear-
ance distance to the rear of 100 mm and to the sides of 130 mm
must be maintained. If the side walls are longer than 710 mm, then
figure 2c is valid.
FOR FLOOR COVERINGS NEAR TO THE STOVE:
Floor coverings made out of combustible materials in front of the
firebox opening of your SENSO M H
covering made out of non-combustible construction materials. The
covering must extend at the front by at least 500 mm and at each
side by at least 300 mm (Fig. 2f) (measured from the firebox opening
or the glass panel)!
The minimum clearance distances to combustible construction ma-
terials and furniture are provided on the stove type plate and the
clearance distances may not fall below these levels.
Wallpaper as a wall covering is not classed as combustible construc-
tion material according to DIN 4102-1.
Observe the minimum clearance distance from the chimney flue
pipes to the combustible construction materials (see 2.2.5 Flue pipe
connection piece).
