Se il veicolo dovesse essere tenuto fermo per lungo
periodo di tempo (es. per la stagione invernale) occorre
prendere le seguenti precauzioni:
I pulire accuratamente tutto il veicolo;
I vuotare il serbatoio ed i carburatori. Se dovesse
essere lasciato per lungo tempo, il carburante evapore-
rebbe lasciando residui ed incrostazioni;
I smontare le candele ed immettere nei cilindri un
poco di olio SAE 30. Quindi far compiere alcuni giri
all'albero motore e rimontare le candele;
I ridurre la pressione dei pneumatici di circa il 20%;
I sistemare il veicolo in modo che le ruote non tocchi-
no terra;
I proteggere con olio le parti non verniciate in modo da
preservarle dalla ruggine;
I smontare la batteria e riporla in un luogo asciutto
dove non vi sia pericolo di gelo e non sia a diretto
contatto con la luce solare; controllare la carica ogni
mese circa;
I ricoprire il veicolo per proteggerlo dalla polvere
avendo però cura che circoli aria.
Storing
If the vehicle is to remain idle for a considerable length
of time (eg. the winter period) it should be stored in the
following way:
I clean the vehicle thoroughly;
I empty the fuel tank and the carburetors. If left for a
prolonged period, the fuel would evaporate thus leaving
deposits and incrustations;
I remove the spark plugs and put a few drops of SAE
30 oil into the cylinders; turn the crankshaft a few
revolutions and then replace the spark plugs;
I reduce the tyre pressures by about 20%;
I position the vehicle so that its wheels are not touching
the ground;
I smear a layer of oil on unpainted parts to avoid rust;
I remove the battery and store in a dry place away
from direct sunlight and where there is no danger of
frost; check the battery charge once a month;
I cover the vehicle to protect from dust, but in such a
way that the air can circulate.
