HITS (Hyper Intelligent Tuning System) switch:
e If the HITS switch is pressed during input of numbers for DIRECT
ACCESS tuning, the receiver sets the remaining digits which have
not yet been input to "0", searches for the corresponding frequen-
cies, and stops on the first station it finds.
© If the HITS switch is pressed at the currently displayed station fre-
quency, the receiver searches up and down the frequency band for
the next station (the SEARCH indicator in the display section lights
at this time) and stops at the first one it finds.

NOTE:
© The system searches for stations within successive 1 MHz ranges
for FMand 99 kHz ranges for AM. During DIRECT ACCESS tuning, it
searches up and down for a station until it reaches the edges of the
band. if no receivable station is found within the band range, the re-
ceiver returns to the state it was in before the HITS switch was
pressed.
© /f the upper (or lower) frequency limit of the receiver is encountered
during HITS operation, the receiver stops searching
in that direction
but continues to search in the other.
@ CUSTOM MEMORY switches
Stations can be assigned to STATION CALL switches according to the
genre of material broadcast (for example, ROCK, JAZZ, etc.). You can
recall a particular genre, and scan all the stations of that genre with
Memory Scan until you reach the desired one.
The initial settings are ROCK, POP, JAZZ, NEWS, and PARTY.
NAME
switch
Change the name of a genre with this switch.
SELECT switch
Recall a genre name with this switch.
SCAN switch
Use this switch to carry out Memory Scan within a genre recalled
with the SELECT switch.
If it is pressed when "TUNER" is displayed, Memory Scan of suc-
cessive STATION CALL NUMBERS will occur, not of genre.
@ Audio/Video INPUT SELECTOR switches
VCR 1: Press when performing playback on a VCR unit.
VCR 2: Press when performing playback on a second VCR unit.
VDP/CDV: Press when performing playback on a video disc player
(VDP) or CDV player.
TAPE 1/DAT: Press when performing playback on a DAT or cassette
deck.
TAPE 2 MONITOR:
Press when performing playback on a second
cassette deck and when monitoring recording.
CD: Press when playing compact discs on a CD player.
TUNER: Press when listening to radio broadcasts.
PHONO:
Press when playing records on turntable.

Syntonisation automatique (AUTO)
En appuyant sur la touche de syntonisation (TUNING) — ou +, le ré-
cepteur balaie auttomatiquement les fréquences de stations d'émis-
sion. Lorsqu'une émission est détectée, le balayage s'arréte a cette
fréquence.
REMARQUE:
Une pression sur une touche syntonisation
(TUNING) (— ou +) pen-
dant qu'un balayage est en cours fait s'arréter le balayage.
Syntonisation manueile (MANUAL)
Elle permet de syntoniser manuellement des frequences d'émission
particuliéres. Chaque fois que la touche TUNING — ou + est enfon-
cée, la fréquence regue change d'une étape de syntonisation. Pour
un balayage continu, maintenir la touche enfoncée et la relacher
pour arréter le balayage.

Lorsque cette touche est enfoncée, les touches d'appel! de station
(STATION CALL) fonctionnent comme dix touches numériques pour
'introduction directe de la fréquence de réception désirée. Appuyer
de nouveau sur cette touche pour annuler le mode.
Sila station introduite ne figure pas dans la gamme de syntonisation
du récepteur, la section d'affichage indique le message "UPPER" sila
fréquence est trop élevée et "LOWER?" si la fréquence est trop basse
(voir page 44).
Touche HITS (Systéme de syntonisation hyper-intel-
ligent):
¢ Si la touche HITS est enfoncée pendant l'introduction de numéros
pour une syntonisation
4 ACCES DIRECT, le récepteur régle les
chiffres restants qui n'ont pas encore été introduits sur "0", re-
cherche les frequences correspondantes et s'arréte sur la premiére
station qu'il trouve.
¢ Si la touche HITS est enfoncée pendant qu'une fréquence de sta-
tion est affichée, le recepteur recherche vers le haut et le bas la fré-
quence de la station suivante (l'indicateur SEARCH sur la section
d'affichage s'allume a ce moment-la) et s'arréte sur la premiére sta-
tion qu'il trouve.

REMARQUE:
© Le systéme recherche /es stations dans les gammes successives 1
MHz pour FM et 99 kHz pour AM. Pendant la syntonisation 4 acces
direct (DIRECT ACCESS), il recherche une station vers le haut et le
bas jusqu'a ce qu'il atteigne les limites de la gamme. Si aucune sta-
tion recevable n'est trouvée dans la gamme, /e récepteur revient 4
l'état ou if était avant que la touche HITS soit enfoncée.
© Sila limite de fréquence supérieure (ou inférieure) du récepteur est
atteinte pendant fa fonction HITS, le récepteur arréte la recherche
dans ce sens, mais continue la recherche dans I'autre.
