BRAKE

BRAKE
• Safe handling of brakes is essential for your safety when cycling. Therefore, become
familiar with the brakes of your E-bike before your first ride. Danger of accident!
• Check the brakes for function before every ride. Incorrectly set or defectively repaired
brakes may cause reduced brake output or even complete failure of the brakes. Dan-
DANGER
ger of accident!
• The brake performance depends on many factors. It may reduce considerably, e.g.
due to the ground properties (gravel paths, loose chippings, etc.), additional payload,
downhill rides or detriment weather.
Wet ground may cause the brake distance to be approx. 60% longer than on dry
WARNING
ground. Therefore adjust your cycling behaviour accordingly. Ride more slowly and
with particular care. Danger of accident!
• Avoid sudden and strong braking to avoid slipping or blocking of the wheels. Danger of
accident!
• H ave maintenance work and repairs on the brakes performed only by sufficiently qual-
ified specialists. Incorrectly set or defectively repaired brakes may cause reduced
brake output or even complete failure of the brakes. Danger of accident!
• Replace brake components only with genuine parts, since only this can ensure proper
function. Danger of accident!
The E-bike is equipped with at least two brakes independently of each other on the front and
rear wheel. Different brake types are installed depending on model:
• V-brake-rim brake (brake lever)
• Hydraulic rim/disc brake (brake lever)
• Backpedalling brake (only for hub gear with backpedalling brake function)
Pulling the brake lever will actuate the rim brakes:

• The brake linings must be free from dirt, grease and oils at all times, since the brake
output may otherwise rapidly reduce or even be lost entirely.
Danger of accident!
• Check the degree of wear of the brake pads before every ride. When riding with
DANGER
strongly contaminated brake pads, the brakes may fail entirely! Danger of accident!
