Installing and Connecting the Plugs

NOTE
If the cables are to be installed above floor level, please
refer to the instructions 54 52 573 for module 54 42 731
(cover for cable outlet on dental treatment chair).
ATTENTION
Proceed with extreme care when laying the cables.
Especially the XGA cable L38 and the S video cable L15
are very fragile and must never become kinked or twisted.
The cables must not overlap or cross one another.
The
RS232 cable L37 and the XGA cable L38 are not yet
preassembled at the PC end (it would be very difficult to pull
the cables through when installed under floor level if a sub D
plug were already installed). If possible, these cables
should always be pulled (the front end also has a wire which
can be bent into a hook for this purpose).

NOTE
If the S video cable has a socket and plug, make certain that
the socket points toward the connection box of the
treatment center during installation. In this case, use the
intermediate (pin-pin) adapter supplied.

• Pull cables L15 (not for a second monitor without a
camera), L37, L38 and the ground wire to the PC either
through a cable duct or above the floor, as required.
Preassembling XGA cable L38:
1. Remove the adhesive tape.
2. Cut off the wire pull.
3. Push the protective braiding back until it is beyond the
cable sheath. Shorten the braiding until it extends
about 1 cm beyond the cable sheath.
Cut off the protective wire D.
