Conductivity control

The concentration of the detergent solution in the main tank of the crate washer is
measured by an inductive conductivity cell during the entire cleaning process.
The concentration is monitored by a microprocessor on the board.
When the concentration drops below the necessary value detergent is sucked out of the
supply container and metered into the washing tank of the crate washer.
As soon as the preset concentration level is reached approximately, the system switches
over to "pulse-pause mode" until the preset concentration value is finally reached. Exceeding
of the concentration is suppressed gradually by a self-teaching system (fuzzy logic).
3.2.3

Proportional metering

In the proportional metering mode the detergent metering pump is controlled in relation to
the filling and rinsing water volume. The filling and rinsing water volume is metered by the
water meters I and II and the detergent pump is activated for the calculated time after every
10 l of water flowed.

Proportional metering while monitoring conductivity

In the proportional metering + conductivity mode, the cleaning solution can be monitored
using conductivity (providing the cleaning solution is electrically conductive).
The detergent metering process is the same as in the proportional metering mode but the
target conductivity value is also monitored.
If the recorded value is below the target value, the maximum metering time starts. Once this
time has passed, an alarm is triggered (NO DETERGENT, CHECK METERING). The
proportional metering process is not interrupted.
3.2.5

Pre-metering

The control contains a detergent pre-metering function (= detergent is metered in already
during filling of the tank). This means that there is already a basic concentration of detergent
in the washing tank at the beginning of the cleaning process.
The detergent pre-metering is recommended for multi-tank crate washers.
The pre-metering is activated as soon as an appropriate signal is available from the crate
washer (usually the filling signal for the cleaning tanks). The actual conductivity value must
be at least 20 % below the set-point value at the beginning of pre-metering.
To avoid the pre-metering being activated during refilling of the washing tank, the crate
washer must be switched off and then back on to start the pre-metering.
A "pre-metering delay" (=delayed start of pre-metering) can also be selected. This prevents
detergent metering taking place before a minimum filling level in the washing tank has been
reached.
