ADJUSTING THE BRAKE LEVER
The idle path of the brake lever is regulated by the tension of
the brake cable.
1. Release the counter-ring and then turn the setting screw
(fig. AI), to regulate the idle path of the brake lever.
2. Hold the setting screw and tighten the counter-ring well until
it pushes against the lever housing.
3. After setting, actuate the brake lever approx. 8–10 times
when standing in order to remove play at the brake lever and
the brake linings.
4. Adjust the idle path of the brake lever again if necessary.
5. If present, you can use the screw
from the brake lever to the handlebar grip.
V-BRAKE RIM BRAKE
EXCHANGING THE BRAKE PADS
• Check the degree of wear of the brake pads before every ride. When riding with
strongly contaminated brake pads, the brakes may fail entirely! Danger of accident!
• Replace the brake pads only with genuine spare parts. Always ensure that you only
use brake pads that are suitable for the rim used (steel or aluminium). Proper function
DANGER
is otherwise not ensured. Danger of accident!
• Replace the brake pads only in pairs, since the brake will otherwise not work correctly
or the brake performance will reduce. Danger of accident!
The brake linings (also called brake pads) wear when used.
Therefore, regularly check their wear and replace them with-
out delay, at the latest when brake force is lost:
1. Release the screws of the brake pads
and right sides with a 5 mm hexagonal socket wrench.
2. Disconnect the brake cable
3. Replace the two brake pads.
4. Connect the brake cable
5. Then adjust the brake pads and the brake lever anew.
