19. IF3 - PATA/SSI INTERFACE
The IF3 interface is a modified RS422 interface. A MINICONTROL operator panel or a relay expan-
sion card can be connected to the IF3 interface (PATA interface).
It is also set up as an SSI interface for connecting absolute encoder systems.

Shielding and Grounding
For interface connections, shielded cables must always be used. This shielding must always be
grounded at both ends.
PATA Interface
Software operation for the MINICONTROL operator panels is described in the "Operator Interface
Panel User's Manual" (MATERMINAL-E).
For MINICONTROL operator panel control, the standard software package SWPLCSTD02-0
(Rev. 00.31 or higher) is available from B&R. However, the operator panel software for the Compact
Control is saved on the standard software diskette SWPLCBRC01-0.
Panel operation is done with function blocks and table parameter definitions.
