Pressure sensors are supplied in the so-called sleeping mode. The sensors are activated
as of a tyre pressure of 0.5 bar and start transmitting data automatically.
Please note! Sensor installation should only be carried out by specialists.
Look for a suitable location to install the control unit. Suitable installation locations (see E)
are under the dashboard, behind the centre console or behind the glove compartment.
Please pay attention to the following pointers for selecting the installation:
– Do not attach the control unit directly adjacent to any other control equipment.
– Pay special attention to there being adequate distance between the control unit and
loom of wires to mechanically moved vehicle parts, such as the steering column or
brake, clutch and gas pedal to prevent damage to the wire or control unit through
pinching or chafing.
– Should you install the control unit behind panelling, take care you can replace the
panelling afterwards.
– When attaching the control unit by screws, take care to ensure that no other vehicle
parts can be damaged.
Incorrectly executed wire installations and wire connections continually lead to compo-
nents malfunctioning or being damaged. Correct wire installation and wire connection is
an absolute must for retrofitted components working faultlessly on a long-term basis.
Please observe the following points:
– Install the wires, so that they cannot be damaged. Do not install wires on sharp edges
or along hot or moving vehicle parts.
– Install a wire along looms of wires and bind it with insulation tape or wire binders as often
as possible.
– Should you lay wires from inside the vehicle into the engine bay or boot, use the exist-
ing lead-in sockets in the partitions.
– Only use suitable methods to connect the wires. Please refer to the four examples
below.
