Fig. 1
As soon as the ignition is switched on, magic control starts a self-test, showing all the
symbols on the display for approx. 2 seconds (see Fig. 1). After this self-test, the current
pressure figure and temperature of each tyre is shown on the display. The tyre symbol
flashing indicates what tyre is being scanned at that moment. Pressure is shown first and
then the temperature. Sequence: Front left, front right, rear right, rear left and the spare
wheel, should the latter be equipped with a pressure sensor (see Figs 2 and 3). Should an
alarm be stored or an abnormal pressure or an abnormal temperature be detected, this
fault will be displayed first of all irrespective of the above-mentioned sequence (see
Alarm reports).
Fig. 2
Should all the values measured be in the normal range, all the tyre symbols are again
displayed together, the numerical display with no indication. The background lighting is
switched off after one minute. Any time when the ignition is switched on, the system
enables the driver to actuate the Check key and to call up the last stored pressure figures
and temperatures. These figures are automatically updated every 54.6 seconds.
Should no data be transferred from one wheel sensor ten times in succession, the display
shows SCH, and the corresponding tyre the sensor is allocated to flashes on the display.
Please refer to the section Troubleshooting concerning this.
Proper working presupposes that the teaching mode has been executed beforehand with
the correct tyre pressure.
Should the tyre air pressure be increased due to the vehicle's load, the teaching mode
must likewise be executed anew.
Used as the reference pressure for the system is the mean value of the two front wheels
for the front axle and for the rear axle the mean value of the two rear wheels. Should a
fifth sensor be installed, the maximum mean value of the two axles is taken as the
reference.
Please note! The tyre pressure shown is always the current pressure. Pressure
may vary depending on the tyre temperature, which is why the tyre pressure
must only be altered when the tyres are cold.
