f) Mounting the Elevator
Push the elevator unit into the fuselage opening
(figure 5a) from behind and place it centrally on
the fuselage.
Install the wing to the fuselage. For information
on this, see chapter 8. r).
Measure the precise position of the elevator to
the wing (see figure 5b).
The accuracy of this work considerably in-
fluences the flight properties.
When everything is measured perfectly, use a
pen to mark the top and bottom of the fuselage
for the precise position of the tail unit.
Then pull out the elevator unit from the fuselage
again and carefully remove the iron-on film wi-

thin the marks with a hot cutter knife.
Then you can attach the tail unit permanently to
the fuselage with 30-minute epoxy glue.
Align the tail unit to the fuselage as illustrated in
figures 4b, 5a and 5b.
Figure 5c shows the connection of the elevator
to the rudder. For notes on this, see the follo-
wing chapter 8. g).
