10.2.1

Battery replacement

The present section provides information on how a specific mainte­
nance work has to be carried out.
The complete list with the required activities is provided in Section 10.1
„Maintenance schedule".
A battery is integrated into the unit for buffering the main memory (con­
taining all parameter settings with all welding programs) and the internal
clock.
The timer generates a fault or a warning (subject to configuration) which
appears in the BOS error table when the remaining battery power beco­
mes critical.
For PSI 6x00:
• the BATTERY FAULT LED on the timer front panel is lit.
For PSI 6xCx:
• The diagnosis module shows the error code 84.

Welding is not possible if the event is defined as a fault message.
Replacement of battery with logic supply switched off
Loss of data possible.
Have a new battery ready at hand for replacement and insert the

new battery immediately after removing the spent battery.
If no 24V supply voltage is present and when the battery has been

removed, buffering of the weld timer's main memory is guaranteed
for max. 24 hours only.
