ster
Function:
• Linking the timer's I/Os to the higher-level PLC or the robot
• via INTERBUS-S and an optical fiber at X12 to X15 (serial I/Os)
and
• via discrete 24 V signals at X11 (parallel I/O).
• transparent networking of the timer using the optical fiber ports.
Whether or not the INTERBUS-S connection is used for networking the
timer can be set on the ADR dip switch (timer front panel). The following
applies:
• all switches in "off" position:
Both the I/O data exchange and networking is handled by the mo­
dule. The timer responds as an INTERBUS-S drop with the decimal
ident. code 229.
The programming terminal (BOS) is linked to the PLC via an Ether­
net port in this application variety which "tunnels" data traffic with the
connected weld timers via INTERBUS-S.
• at least 1 switch in "on" position:
Only I/O data exchange is handled by the module. The timer re­
sponds as an INTERBUS-S drop with the decimal ident. code 47.
Networking with the programming terminal (BOS) is achieved using
the Ethernet module in the field bus slot (refer to page 276).
