8.11.3 Splitting balance weights (SPLIT program)
With the non-standard programs (ALU2, ALU3, Pax2),
the balance weight for the second balancing plane can
be hidden behind the spokes.

Start the "SPLIT" program while the second
balancing plane is active.
The wheel balancing machine is equipped with an ASD
function for automatic spoke detection, which is active
by default. Detection will be carried out automatically
after the first start for the imbalance measurement.
The number of spokes detected will be displayed
directly in the status bar.

Automatic detection will require more time during
the start than standard detection. If the function
is not needed, it can be deactivated in the user
settings menu.
1. Tap the symbol to activate the function.
 The first screen concerning the number of spokes
will be shown.
 With the ASD function active, the software will
suggest the number of spokes.
The reference mark in the lower part of the rim
pictured will turn green after selection.
Symbols Description
After a tap on the symbol, the basic balancing
screen will be displayed and the split function will
not be continued.
After a spoke has been placed in the 12-o'clock
position and the symbol has been tapped, the
balancing screen for the split function will be
displayed.

If the ASD function (automatic spoke detection)
is not active, tap the symbol with the number of
spokes of the rim currently being balanced.

Make sure the rotation of the wheel is not impaired
by tools or other objects.
2. Rotate the wheel until one spoke is in the 12-o'clock
position, and tap the
 The position of the spoke is now saved.
 Now, the balancing screen for the "SPLIT" func-
tion will be shown directly.
 The values for the balance weights to be posi-
tioned behind the spokes will be displayed. The
value of the balance weight to be attached be-
hind the first spoke will be activated.
 The reference mark for the first position for at-
taching the balance weight will be activated.

The value of the balance weight and the positioning
reference for attachment behind the second spoke
will remain deactivated during this initial phase.

On machine versions with an integrated laser
indicator, it is possible to precisely indicate the
positioning of the spoke at the 6-o'clock position
instead of the 12-o'clock position after the function
has been activated.

To close the balancing screen for the "split" function
and return to the basic screen, tap the
symbol.
