2. Lift the protective hood fully.
3. Select a balance weight (clip-on or adhesive) of the
required value.
i
The information needed to create balancing reports
can now be collected. Before fastening the weights,
see the section "Creating a balancing report" if the
document is needed.
Rim flange (ALU3 1st balancing plane and standard
programs):
Attach the clip-on balance weight and adhesive
balance weights at the highest vertical position on
the wheel (12 o'clock).
i
Machine versions with an integrated laser indicator
will direct a laser beam at the 12-o'clock position of
the wheel. Position the balance weight at the center
facing the indicator (see the "Attaching adhesive
balance weights by laser indicator" section).
i
For attaching clip-on balance weights, see the
"Attaching clip-on balance weights" section.
Attaching an adhesive balance weight in the rim well
(ALU3 2nd balancing plane and ALU2, PAX2):
Use the electronic rim distance gauge to attach
the adhesive balance weight using the weight
positioning gauge or manually by following the
integrated laser indicator.
i
The way an adhesive balance weight is attached
depends on the geometry of the electronic rim
distance gauge.

i
For attaching adhesive balance weights using
the integrated laser indicator, see the "Attaching
adhesive balance weights by laser indicator"
section. The laser indicator will only be active if the
attachment of the balance weight by electronic rim
distance gauge is deactivated.
4. Tap the indicator for positioning the balance weight
for the second balancing plane on the right-hand
side of the screen.
 The indicator for positioning the balance weight
for the second balancing plane will be activated.
 The indicator for positioning the balance weight
for the first balancing plane will be deactivat-
ed. The value in the round section will remain un-
changed.
5. After a tap on the display of the second balancing
plane, the wheel will automatically position itself on
the second balancing plane at low speed.
 As soon as the correct position for attaching
the balance weight has been reached, the refer-
ence mark on the screen will position itself at the
12-o'clock position.
 The balance weight to be attached will be indi-
cated at the center of the round section.
6. Select a balance weight (clip-on or adhesive) of the
required value.
7. Attach the balance weight according to the above
instructions.
i
For machine versions with external laser indicators,
see the "Attaching adhesive balance weights by laser
indicator" section.
i
If the display for the positioning of the balance
weight is tapped while it is deactivated, the
following will happen:
$
The round section will be activated and shown in
white.
$
The wheel will automatically position itself on the
balancing plane selected.
i
After the balance weights have been attached, the
imbalance must be measured again to check the
balance.
