With manual positioning
i
On some versions for certain markets, automatic
positioning is not available.
The following instructions apply even if that function
is deactivated.
!
Before positioning, wait for the wheel to come to a
stop.
1. Lift the protective hood fully.
i
The software will suggest the closest balancing
plane.
i
Below the round section, the plane for balancing
and balance weight positioning will be displayed.
i
Follow the direction of rotation indicated on the
screen for turning the wheel.
2. Turn the wheel by hand, and position the yellow
reference mark vertically (at the 12-o'clock position).
 The yellow reference mark will turn green.
 The balance weight to be attached will be indi-
cated at the center of the round section.
3. Select a balance weight (clip-on or adhesive) of the
required value.
i
The information needed to create balancing reports
can now be collected. Before fastening the weights,
see the section "Creating a balancing report" if the
document is needed.

Wheel balancing | MT ZERO 6 Touch | 123
Rim flange (ALU3 1st balancing plane and standard
programs):
Attach the clip-on balance weight and adhesive
balance weights at the highest vertical position on
the wheel (12 o'clock).
i
Machine versions with an integrated laser indicator
will direct a laser beam at the 12-o'clock position of
the wheel. Position the balance weight at the center
facing the indicator (see the "Attaching adhesive
balance weights by laser indicator" section).
i
For machine versions with external laser indicators,
see the "Attaching adhesive balance weights by laser
indicator" section.
i
For attaching clip-on balance weights, see the
"Attaching clip-on balance weights" section.
Attaching an adhesive balance weight in the rim well
(ALU3 2nd balancing plane and ALU2, PAX2):
Attach the adhesive balance weight using the electronic
rim distance gauge or the weight positioning gauge.
i
The way an adhesive balance weight is attached
depends on the geometry of the electronic rim
distance gauge.

rim distance gauge
i
For attaching adhesive balance weights using the
electronic rim distance gauge, see the "Attaching
adhesive balance weights" sec.
i
For attaching adhesive balance weights using
the integrated laser indicator, see the "Attaching
adhesive balance weights by laser indicator"
section. The laser indicator will only be active if the
attachment of the balance weight by electronic rim
distance gauge is deactivated.
4. Use the same procedure for the remaining balancing
plane.
i
After the balance weights have been attached, the
imbalance must be measured again to check the balance.
