4.5.1. Removal of rear axle
This chapter describes the removal of a rear axle bent during racing and how to replace it with a
new one.
Depending on which side (engine side or rear axle bearing side) the rear axle was bent, proceed
as per the following instructions:
General procefure for removal of rear axle:
9. Remove the exhaust system and both rear wheel hubs with rims and tyres assy.

Note:
Remove the attachment (pos.1) of the gearshifting cables from the exhaust system.

Note:
Unscrew the M6 "securing" screws from the rear hubs until it is possible to remove
the rear hubs from the axle.
10. Remove the two keys for the rear hubs from the left and right side of the axle.
11. Remove the left top rear bumper (pos.2) by removing the Allen screws M6x16 and M6x60.
12. Remove the protective shield for the pick-up (below engine) by removal of the 2 Allen screws
M8x20.
13. Remove the 4 engine fixation screws M8x20 (below the engine).
14. Remove the hose clamp (pos.3) of the lower radiator hose from the right brake calliper support.
15. Loosen (but do not remove) the Allen screws M10 of the brake disk fixation, the Allen screws
M8 of the brake disk support and the 2 studs M8x8 of the left rear axle bearing support
(pos 4 resp. 5).
16. Remove the upper half of the axle bearing support (pos. 6) by loosening and removing the 2
Allen screws M8X30.
