5.2. Check of level and condition

5.2.1. Gear oil
The gearbox chamber is already filled by the factory with
the necessary oil quantity. The oil level, however, should
be checked regularly as per Maintenance Schedule.
Place vehicle on a horizontal space.
Remove the right rear tire.
Check oil level at the inspection glass.
The oil level should be up to the middle of the inspection
glass (see illustration).
If the oil level is too low, refill with oil (see Chapter
"Change of gear oil").
Attention: If the engine is operated with too low gear oil level, this will cause engine- resp. gear
damage.

5.2.2. Engine coolant

For sufficient cooling of the engine it is necessary that the cooling circuit is completely filled.
Open radiator cover.
The level of the coolant should be
above the top row of cooling fins.
Attention: Open the radiator cover carefully as
the cooling circuit might be under
pressure. Risk of burning by hot
coolant.
If the coolant level is too low, refill with coolant.
Proceed as follows:
Refill with coolant of the prescribed specification until full.
Close the radiator cover.
Attention: If the engine is operated with insufficient coolant, the engine may get damaged.
Note: If there is again loss of coolant search for the cause. If you cannot find the reason,
please, contact a ROTAX Service Center.
