4.7. Exchange and charging of battery

4.7.1. Removal and installation of battery
If you intend to use the vehicle longer than 5 hours, without being able to recharge the battery in
the meantime, or when the battery has reached the end of it`s lifetime or is defective, the battery
must be exchanged.
Attention: Always replace the battery by an original battery FIAMM-GS 7,2 Ah, as this battery
is a matched system with the recharger.
Note:
Batteries contain environmentally harmful but at the same time valuable raw
materials and therefore must be appropriately disposed of or recycled.
Removal of battery:
Lift vehicle or place it on a trolley.
Detach the black (-) pole (to avoid short-
circuit).
Remove inner and outer rubber fixation strap
(pos. 19).
Lift battery cover top and bottom part
(pos. 20 and pos. 18) together.
Detach red (+) pole.
Remove battery (pos.17) from its support
(pos.14).
Attention: By no means a short circuit must be
produced between the two connecting pole. This would damage the battery or even
make the battery explode.
Attention: When transporting a removed battery, cover the two poles because in case of
contact with a metallic object this would cause fire.
Installation of battery:
Lift vehicle or place it on a trolley.
Install battery with black pole (-) pole being in front/bottom position.
Connect red (+) pole.
Fit battery cover lower and upper part (pos.18 and pos.20) together.
Attach rubber fixation strap (pos.19) by all means first at the outside.
Stretch inner rubber fixation strap (pos.19) with right hand, hold it with left hand and hook it
in with the left index.
Attach black (-) pole.
