4.8. Adaption resp. adjustment of the pedals to the pilot
4.8.1. Brake pedal
The brake pedal can be adapted to the needs regarding
position and brake force:
Attention: The brake pedal has to be secured, in
addition to the standard connection to the
main brake cylinder, with a cable (pos.1)
and a cable clamp (pos.2).
Attention: Be aware that, if the securing cable is fixed
too tight, the brake force adjustment (see
chapter 2.7) may get difficult or even
impossible.
A) Responding behaviour
The responding behaviour can be modified by
screwing the brake pedal resp. the bracket soldered to
it into one of the 4 bores (pos.1) with the rod end.
If the lower bores are used, the brake force is
increased and the brake pedal way is longer.
B) Ergonomy of the driver
It can be adjusted by the depth of screwing the rod end into the pull rod. The stop (3) – which is
to prevent damage to the brake system in case of a crash – has to be adjusted according to the
requirements.
Note:
It is absolutely necessary to keep a minimum clearance of 1 mm / 0,04 in. between
pedal and Allen screw (Pos.3), otherwise the brake force adjustment may get hard
to move. After modification of this adjustment make sure that the counter nut at the
rod head is sufficiently tightened.
After adjustment make sure that the counter nut on the ball joint is properly tightened.
Attention: In the bore (pos.2) of the pull rod the thread of the rod head must be visible. Only in
this case the screw-in depth is sufficient. Otherwise the brake actuation may break.
Attention: Check brake pedal before every drive for easy movement.
