5.4. Check of fuel filter
The fuel filter protects the components of fuel supply (fuel pump, carburetor) from contamination
and consequent malfunction and engine damage.
Therefore pay particular attention that the fuel filter is fitted and clean.
A valuation of the degree of contamination is very difficult, therefore we recomment you to check
the fuel filter regularly before every drive, replace it in case of doubt.
5.5. Check of battery
The charging status of the battery can be checked on the multi-functional display.
When the battery is removed from the vehicle, the battery voltage can be measured with a
commercially available measuring instrument.
15 minutes after the end of charging or 15 minutes after the last load required from the battery the
charging status can be estimated according to the voltage indicated.
See Chart below:
Spannung
Voltage
[ Volt ]
12,30
12,45
12,60
12,75
12,90
13,10
Note:
If the voltage is below 12.4 V or if "LO BA" is shown on the multi-functional display,
starting problems may occur. In this case recharge the battery immediately or
replace it by a fully charged one.
Note:
If "LO BA" is indicated during the starting procedure, this is not a sign for a bad
charging status of the battery. Due to the load on the battery at the starting
procedure there is a voltage drop below 12.4 V. If however the indication "LO BA"
still appears after longer standstill (approx. 10 – 15 minutes) of the vehicle, this is a
sign of bad charging status of the battery.
