Cleaning
• Reusable inner cannula
* Ideally, the detergent should contain anionic and nonionic surfactants.
CAUTIONS
• Do not use solutions other than those recommended. Hydrogen peroxide or other oxidizing
agents may be harmful to the device.
• Do not clean or reuse the neck strap.
• Duration of use should not exceed twenty-nine (29) days.
NOTE: Follow the physician's recommendations for cleaning schedules.
1. Use sterile gloves when handling the inner cannula.
2. Prepare neutral detergent* at 2ml per liter (1/4 oz per gallon)
of sterile water.
3. For 30 seconds, submerge in the detergent solution.
4. Use a new, soft brush inside the inner cannula or pull a sterile,
wet, lint-free gauze pad through the inner cannula until all
visible secretions are removed.
5. Clean outside with sterile, wet gauze pad.
6. Rinse with sterile normal saline or sterile water for 30 seconds.
7. Air dry.
8. Visually inspect the inner cannula for any sign of material
wear. If there is any sign of material wear, discard the inner
cannula and replace with a new one.
9. Discard brush and gauze pad. Do not reuse.
