Die Leistungseinstellung des Dieselmotors (nach DIN
6271) ist ausgelegt für folgende Bedingungen:
− Umgebungstemperatur 27 °C
− geometrische Höhenlage der Einsatzstelle des
Walzenzugs 1000 m ü.NN
− relative Luftfeuchtigkeit 60%
− Kraftstoff entsprechend DIN51601
Bei Betrieb des Dieselmotors in größeren Höhenla-
gen und höheren Umgebungstemperatu-ren kann der
Dieselmotor nicht mehr seine ein-gestellte Leistung
abgeben. Es muß dann eine Reduzierung der einge-
stellten Leistung am Regler der Einspritzpumpe vor-
genommen werden, um den Motor vor überhöhtem
Verschleiß durch schlechte Verbrennung und damit
verbundener thermischer Überlastung zu schützen.
Die Leistungsreduzierung kann von einer PERKINS-
Motoren-Fachwerkstatt vorgenommen werden. Sie
wird erforderlich, wenn der Dieselmotor dauernd in
„dünner Luft" auf Höhenlagen arbeiten muß. Die
Größe der Leistungsreduzierung ist durch DIN 6270
festgelegt.

Design structure and mode of opera-
The rated output of the diesel engine (in accordance
with DIN specification 6271) is based on the follo-
wing factors:
− ambient temperature 27 degree C.
− geographical altitude of the operating site of
the vibratory compactor = 1000 m above sea
level
− a relative air moisture of 60%
− diesel oil according to DIN 51601
If the diesel engine is operated at a higher altitude
and/or higher ambient temperatures, it is physically
impossible for the diesel engine to achieve the rated
output. The output of the engine must be reduced by
adjusting the regulator of the injection pump, so that
the engine is protected against excess wear and tear
due to poor combustion and the extreme overheating
which would result from this.
Any PERKINS engine specialist's workshop can
carry out the necessary output reduction adjustment
which is required if the diesel engine is to operate
constantly in „thin air" (high altitudes). The DIN
6270 specification sheet contains a set of tables indi-
cating the extent of such output reduction.
