15 Maintenance
► Fit the red cable (1) against the positive termi‐
nal of the battery.
► Insert the screw (2) through the washer (3).
► Insert the screw (2) and washer (3) through
the hole of the connecting cable and the bore
of the battery terminal.
► Insert the washer (3) and spring washer (4)
onto the screw (2) from the other side.
► Turn the nut (5) onto the screw (2).
► Place 2 wrenches against the nut (5) and
screw (2).
► Tighten the nut (5) to 6–8 Nm and hold it in
place with a second wrench.
► Fit the cap (6) to completely cover the screw
connection.
The positive terminal is now connected.
► Place the black cable (7) against the negative
terminal of the battery.
► Insert the screw (8) through the washer (9)
through the hole of the connecting cable and
through the bore of the battery terminal.
► Insert the washer (10) and spring washer (11)
onto the screw (8) from the other side.
► Turn the nut (12) onto the screw (8).
► Place 2 wrenches against the nut (12) and
screw (8).
► Tighten the nut (12) tight to a torque of 6–
8 Nm and hold it in place with a second
wrench.
The negative terminal is now connected.
► Lift the battery.
► Tilt the battery slightly toward the inside.
► Carefully guide the battery downward.
The connecting cables are stowed properly in
the battery compartment.
► Close the battery compartment,

Charging the battery via the charging plug
NOTICE
Incorrect use of the chargers may cause damage
to the battery or to the electrical system of the
ride-on mower.
► Charge the battery only with the indicated
chargers in the installed condition.
► Refer to the User Manual of the charger.
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Open the engine hood,
► Plug the STIHL ADL 012 diagnostic charger or
any other suitable charger into the charger
plug (1).
Charging the battery outside the ride-on mower
► Remove the battery,
► Recharge the battery with a suitable charger
as described in the User Manual of the
charger.

► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Open the engine hood,
► Turn the socket (1) by approx. 90° and pull it
out.
