► Only lift the ride-on mower by the frame,
rims or axles.
► Position a lifted ride-on mower only on its
axles or rear panel on a non-slip surface
with sufficient load-bearing capacity.
► When the rear wheels are to be lifted:
secure the front wheels against rolling
away. The parking brake only acts on the
rear wheels.
■ Fires may occur when the V-belt of the mow‐
ing deck is overloaded and flammable materi‐
als are nearby. People may be injured, and
property may be damaged.
► Regularly clean the mowing deck.
► Keep the area around the V-belt free from
flammable materials.

Preparing the ride-on mower
for use
The following steps must be performed before
commencing work:
► Remove the packaging material and transport
locks.
► Ensure that the following components are in a
safe condition:
– Ride-on mower,
– Blades,

– Battery,

► Clean the ride-on mower,
► Check the tires,
► Insert the battery,
► Check the safety devices,
► Refuel the lawn mower,
► Fill with engine oil,
► Open the fuel cock,
► Attach the discharge chute,
► Adjust the driver's seat,
► Check the controls,
For mowing:
► Attach the grass catcher box,
► Check the blades,
► Attach the mowing deck,
► Select the cutting height,
► If you cannot carry out these steps: Do not use
the ride-on mower and instead contact a
STIHL authorized dealer for assistance.

NOTICE
At each attachment of the discharge chute, also
check and clean the level sensor,

The engine cannot start without the discharge
chute.
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Select the lowest cutting height,
► Push the discharge chute (1) completely into
the discharge port (2).
► Screw in the retaining nuts (3) and tighten
them.
The discharge chute covers the discharge port
of the mowing deck on all sides, and the con‐
tact switch (4) is pressed.

Removing the discharge chute
NOTICE
The engine cannot start when the discharge
chute is not attached.
► Place the lawn mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
