16 Repairing

► Detach the mowing deck,
► Remove the blades,
► Sharpen the blades. In doing so, note the
sharpening angle and cool the blades.
The blades must not turn blue during sharpen‐
ing.

Users should not repair the ride-on mower or the
blades themselves.

17 Troubleshooting

17.1 Troubleshooting the ride-on mower
Engine errors

► If warning labels are illegible or damaged:
Have the warning labels replaced by a STIHL
authorized dealer.
Remedy
Set the throttle lever to the "MAX" position.
Switch on the choke.
Refuel the ride-on mower.
Open the fuel cock.
► Check the fuel filter as described in the User
Manual for the engine.
► Use fresh, good quality unleaded gasoline.
► If the error persists: Contactt a STIHL authorized
dealer.
Clean or replace the air filter as described in the
User Manual for the engine.
► Clean or replace the spark plug.
► Adjust the electrode gap.
► Attach the spark plug boot.
► Check the connection between the ignition cable
and boot.
► Unscrew the spark plug and dry it.
► Set the throttle lever to the "MIN" position and
actuate the starter a few times after removing the
spark plug.
► Screw in the spark plug and plug in the spark plug
boot.
► Measure the battery voltage.
► If the battery voltage is insufficient: Charge or
replace the battery.
Check the safety devices.
