■ Dust may be whipped up during operation.
Whipped up dust can damage the respiratory
passages and cause allergic reactions.
► If dust is generated: Wear a dust respirator
mask.
■ Inappropriate clothing can snag on the ride-on
mower. Users not wearing suitable clothing
may be seriously injured.
► Wear close-fitting clothing.
► Remove scarves and jewelry.
■ The user can come into contact with the blade
during cleaning and maintenance work. This
may result in injury to the user.
► Wear protective gloves made from resistant
material.
► Wear sturdy, closed-toed footwear with
non-slip soles.
■ Wearing unsuitable footwear may cause the
user to slip. This may result in injury to the
user.
■ Material particles may be ejected when sharp‐
ening the blade. This may result in injury to the
user.
► Wear close-fitting safety glasses. Suitable
safety glasses are tested for mechanical
strength according to standard EN 166 or
EN ISO 16321 or national standards and
are commercially available with the appro‐
priate labeling.
► Wear protective gloves made of resistant
material.

Work Area and Surroundings

4.5.1 Ride-on mower
WARNING
■ Bystanders, children and animals cannot rec‐
ognize or assess the risks of the ride-on
mower and of objects being ejected at high
speed. This may result in serious injury to
bystanders, children and animals and damage
to property.
► Keep bystanders, children and animals
away from the working area.
► Maintain a distance from objects.
► Do not leave the ride-on mower unatten‐
ded.
► Make sure that children cannot play with
the ride-on mower.
► Stop the ride-on mower immediately if
someone moves into the area to be mown.
► Never transport people, children or animals
on or with the ride-on mower.

► Operate the ride-on mower with particular
care when the work is to be performed in
the vicinity of public institutions and roads.
■ Electrical components of the ride-on mower
can produce sparks. Sparks may cause fires
or explosions in highly flammable or explosive
environments. Persons may be seriously or
fatally injured, and property may be damaged.
► Do not work in a highly flammable or explo‐
sive environment.
4.5.2 Battery
WARNING
■ Bystanders, children and animals cannot rec‐
ognize or assess the risks of the battery.
Bystanders, children and animals may be seri‐
ously injured.
► Keep bystanders, children and animals
away from the work area.
► Do not leave the battery unattended.
► Make sure that children cannot play with
the battery.
■ The battery is not protected against all ambi‐
ent conditions. If the battery is exposed to cer‐
tain ambient conditions, the battery may catch
fire or explode or may sustain irreparable
damage. This may result in serious injury to
people and damage to property.
► Protect battery from heat and fire.
► Do not throw the battery into a fire.
► Protect the battery against rain and mois‐
ture and do not immerse it in liquids.
► Keep the battery away from small metal
parts.
► Do not expose battery to high pressure.
► Do not expose battery to microwaves.
► Protect the battery against chemicals and
salts.

Safe Condition

4.6.1 Ride-on mower
The ride-on mower is in a safe condition if the
following points are met:
– The ride-on mower is undamaged.
– No fuel is leaking from the ride-on mower.
– The fuel tank cap is closed.
– No motor oil is leaking from the ride-on
mower.
– The engine oil cap is closed.
– The ride-on mower is clean.
– The controls are working properly and have
not been modified.
– The safety devices are working properly, are
unchanged and undamaged.
