15 Maintenance
► Check the position of the feather key (1) in the
groove of the wheel axle.
► Push the wheel (2) onto the wheel axle.
The valve points away from the ride-on
mower.
► Push the washers (3, 4) onto the wheel axle.
► Press the retaining ring (5) into the groove in
the wheel axle.
The retaining ring snaps into place.
► Push the cap (6) onto the wheel axle.
15.5 Lubricating the steering
knuckle
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Ease the pressure on the front wheels,

► Clean the grease nipple (1) on both steering
knuckles of the front axle.
► Apply the grease gun filled with lubricating
grease to the grease nipples (1).
► Press in the lubricating grease.
Lubricating grease often leaks from steering
knuckles.

► Pull off the grease gun.
► Remove any leaking lubricating grease.
► Load the front axle.
15.6 Servicing the battery
15.6.1 Opening and closing the battery com‐
partment
15.6.1.1 Open the battery compartment
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Unscrew nut (1).
► Remove the battery compartment cover (2).
The battery compartment is open.
15.6.1.2 Closing the battery compartment
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Fit the battery compartment cover (1) in place.
► Install the nut (2).
The battery compartment is closed.
15.6.2 Removing and inserting the battery
15.6.2.1 Setting the battery to the installation
position
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
