► Put the cap (7) completely over the screw con‐
nection (8).
The positive terminal is connected.
Connecting the negative terminal
► Place the black cable (9) on the negative ter‐
minal of the battery.
► Insert the screw (10) through the washer (11)
through the hole of the connecting cable and
through the bore of the battery terminal.
► Insert the spring washer (12) and washer (13)
on the screw (10) from the other side.
► Turn the nut (14) onto the screw (10).
► Place 2 wrenches against the nut (14) and
screw (10).
► Tighten the nut (14) to 6–8 Nm and hold it in
place with a second wrench.
The negative terminal is connected.
► Install the steering column cover,

Charging the battery

NOTICE
Incorrect use of the chargers may cause damage
to the battery of the ride-on mower.
► Charge the battery only with suitable charg‐
ers in a removed state.
► Refer to the User Manual for the charger.
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Remove the steering column cover,

► Connect the STIHL ADL 012 diagnostic
charger or other suitable charger to the battery
as described in the User Manual of the
charger.
15.8 Removing and Attaching the
Blade
15.8.1 Removing the blade
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Detach the mowing deck,
► Lean the mowing deck (1) against a wall and
secure it against slipping.
► Block the blades (2) with a piece of wood (3).
► Take out the screw (4) and remove it with the
washer (5).
► Remove the blade (2).
► Dispose of the screw (4) and the washer (5).
Use a new screw and washer for installing the
blade.
15.8.2 Installing the blade
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
