10 Checking the ride-on mower

► Open the fuel cock (1).
► Sit on the driver's seat.
► Insert the ignition key in the ignition switch.
► Turn the ignition key to the "Ignition on" posi‐
tion.
► Press the brake pedal all the way down and
hold it there or engage the parking brake.
► If the engine is warm: Set the throttle lever to
the "Choke" position.
► If the engine is warm: Set the throttle lever to
the "MAX" position.
► Turn the ignition key to the "Engine start" posi‐
tion and hold it.
The engine starts.
► Release the ignition key.
The ignition key resets to the "Ignition on"
position.
► If you have started the engine with the choke:
Set the throttle lever to the "MAX" position.

Shutting off the engine

► Brake the ride-on mower until it comes to a
complete standstill.
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Disengage the blades,
After 5 seconds, the blades come to a stand‐
still.
► Set the throttle lever to the "MAX" position,

► Turn the ignition key to the "Engine off" posi‐
tion.
The engine stops.
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Leave the user position.
If the ride-on mower is parked for a longer period
or transported:

Checking the tires

Checking the tires for wear or damage
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Check the tires for wear or visible damage.
► If the tires show reduced profile depth, signifi‐
cant wear or visible damage: Remove the front
and rear wheels,
► Takle the wheels to a STIHL authorized
dealer.
Checking the tire pressure
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Unscrew the valve cap (1).
► Fit the air pump together with a pressure
gauge or tire pressure gauge onto the valve.
► Measure the following parameters:
– Tire pressure, front: 0.8–1.0 bar
– Tire pressure, rear: 0.6–0.8 bar
► If the measured tire pressure is not within the
indicated range: Adjust the tire pressure.

Checking the safety devices

The safety devices must only be checked from
the driver's seat.

safety devices.
