On the last Smartline extension system, the terminating resistor must be con-
nected to BUS-OUT.

Remove additional axis power supply units from the power supply in advance and
connect to the respective axis. (As from a maximum of 8 axes)

CONNECTING THE PICKONE AS THE MASTER TO THE
SMARTLINE EXTENSION

ü Smartline extension has been positioned next to the PickOne master.
ü Industrial vending solutions have been disconnected from the power supply.
ü Cover has been removed.
ü Left or right adapter kit exchanged with end cover of cover.
ü PickOne base fascia has been removed.
1. Connect the data line from the USB-B socket of the PickOne master to the USB-A
socket of the adapter kit (external) of the Smartline extension. Connect (BUS-
OUT) from the adapter kit (internal) to the extension input (BUS-IN).
2. Connect the power line from the socket to the adapter kit (external) DC output.
Connect the bus cable (PWR-OUT) from the adapter kit (internal) to the extension
input (PWR-IN).
3. Fit the cover.
4. Restore the power supply.
5. Switch on the industrial vending solution and interconnect the systems in the
software.

CONNECTING THE LOCKER AS THE MASTER TO THE
SMARTLINE EXTENSION

ü Smartline extension has been positioned next to the Locker master.
ü Industrial vending solutions have been disconnected from the power supply.
ü Cover has been removed.
ü The opening for routing cables has been exposed on the end cover.
ü Locker base fascia has been removed.
1. Connect the data line from the USB-A socket of the Locker master to the exten-
sion input (BUS-IN).
2. Connect the power line with external power supply unit from the socket to the
extension input (PWR-IN).
3. Mount the end cover with protective cable bushing on the cover.
4. Fit the cover.
5. Restore the power supply.
6. Switch on the industrial vending solution and interconnect the systems in the
software.

Locker master has been connected to the Smartline extension.
6.7.
SWITCHING OFF THE GOODS ISSUING SYSTEM
1. Shut down the operating software in a controlled manner.
2. Shut down the operating system in a controlled manner.
3. Disconnect the goods issuing system from the power supply.

Operation

Non-operational guards or safety equipment
Risk of fatal accident or serious injury.

Before starting work check all safety equipment for correct installation and cor-
rect operation.
»
Do not disable guards such as the emergency access duct.
»
Maintain free access to the sockets which supply power to the goods issuing sys-
tem.
»
Once the system has been switched off, ensure it is not switched on again
without proper checks.
»
Keep the safety equipment accessible at all times.
CAUTION
Unsecured objects that fall or are left lying around
Crush hazard and impact hazard for hands, feet and body.
»
Do not place heavy objects on the industrial vending system or attach them to it.
»
Comply with the maximum load capacity.
»
Keep the working area clean and tidy; remove any objects that are no longer
needed.
»
Mark any unavoidable trip hazards.
CAUTION
Crush hazard when closing the drawers

Do not reach into the goods issuing drawers whilst they are closing.
NOTICE! Do not store any substances in the drawers that may become res-
inous and lead to the closure mechanism sticking.
7.1.
STORING GOODS
ü Items must not protrude from the drawer.
ü The size of the drawer must be suitable for the size of the item.
ü The maximum load per drawer must not be exceeded.
ü System is ready.
ü User is logged in.
1. Follow the on-screen instructions for storing items.

To store the items and quantities, touch the screen in the areas shown.
2. Point the hand-held scanner at the barcode on the item.
»
Scan the item with the barcode.
3. Enter the item quantity manually.
»
Confirm your entry.
4. The drawer will open.
5. Place the item in the drawer and confirm on the screen.
»
The item has been stored.
»
NOTICE! The system can centrally log that the items have been stored.
7.2.
GOODS ISSUING
ü System is ready
ü User is logged in.
1. Follow the on-screen instructions to select an item.

To select the items and quantities, touch the screen in the areas shown.
2. Select the item.
»
Confirm the item
3. Select the quantity.
»
Confirm the quantity.
4. The drawer opens.
»
Withdraw the item.
»
NOTICE! The system can centrally log that the items have been issued.
8.
Faults and troubleshooting
DANGER
Electrically live components
Risk of fatal electric shock.
»
Maintenance and repair may be performed only by a trained specialist for elec-
tro-technical work.
»
Before starting any maintenance work, switch the unit off and disconnect it from
the power supply, disable it and protect it from being switched on again.
»
Check that the system is electrically dead, earth it and short circuit it.
»
Cover or barrier off any adjoining components that are still live.
»
If any current-carrying components suffer damage, have them repaired immedi-
ately.

Check error messages at the touch monitor.
ü Troubleshooting should be performed by a trained specialist for electro-technical
work or trained specialist for mechanical work, depending on the type of fault.
ü Barrier off the hazard area.
ü Inform the responsible person about the fault.
1. Log the user out of the system,
2. log the user in again and repeat the operation.
3. If the fault recurs twice or thrice, shut down the goods issuing system.

4. Keep it disconnected from the mains for 30 seconds, then reboot it.
8.1.
EMERGENCY RELEASE

In hazardous situations, movements of components must be stopped as quickly
as possible and the power supply must be switched off.
8.1.1.
Removing the cover

ü Master and slave have been disconnected from the power supply.
ü Use a 5 mm hex key.
1. Undo the screws of the cover.
2. Remove the screws.
3. Remove the cover.

Fitting the cover

The process for fitting is performed in the reverse order to the process for re-
moval.
8.1.2.
Actions if a defect arises

If the power supply fails or the equipment develops defects, this can affect the
withdrawal of items from the industrial vending solution, or filling of items into it.
ü Cover has been removed.
