Depending on the diameter of the device, at least 6.8-10.1 oz (200-300
ml) of liquid is required to produce steam, regardless of whether you are
cooking with an insert. Never operate the pressure cooker without this
minimum amount of liquid.

To ensure safe operation, the pressure cooker must not be filled with more
than ⅔ of its capacity (useable capacity).
½ Mark
For foods that foam or expand during cooking, such as rice, broth, or dried
vegetables, the pressure cooker must not be filled to more than half its
capacity.
⅓ Mark
When cooking beans or other legumes, only fill the pot to ⅓ of its capacity,
as their thin skins can easily rise and clog the valves.
Stovetop Suitability
Fissler pressure cookers are suitable for all stove types, including gas,
solid plate, glass ceramic, and induction.
To avoid scratching surfaces, you should always lift your cookware when
moving it. Fissler accepts no liability for any damage if this rule is not
followed.
Hot plate/glass ceramic (radiant/halogen): The stovetop should be the
same diameter as the bottom of the pot or smaller.
Gas stove: Place the cookware in the center of the burner and avoid side
flame exposure, as this can damage the plastic handles.
Induction: Always place the cookware in the center of the burner. The size
of the base of the pan should match or be larger than the burner size,
otherwise the burner may not respond to the base of the pan.
Special instructions for induction stoves: Please observe the instructions
provided by the stove manufacturer. A buzzing sound may occur during
use that is due to technical reasons and is not a sign of a defect in either

the stove or the cookware.
Energy Saving Tips
• During cooking, regulate the stove temperature so that the cooking
indicator does not rise into the red range for the cooking level selected,
and so that the pressure regulator does not begin to release steam.
• When cooking on the steam cooking level, set the stove temperature so
that only a light plume of steam emerges from the lid handle or pressure
regulator.
• Use a burner of the appropriate size
• Select the cookware size according to the amount being cooked.
• Utilize the heat retained in the base: Switch off the stove shortly before
the end of the cooking time.
5. Cooking with the Vitavit®
You can prepare all kinds of recipes in a variety of ways in the pressure
cooker. You can roast, simmer, and braise or deep-fry in an open pot. With
an additional insert, steaming, steam juicing, and tiered cooking are also
possible. In combination with a conventional lid, the pressure cooker can
also be used as a saucepan. In the pressure cooker, all kinds of dishes
including meat, vegetables, and legumes, as well as fish and grains, can

Selecting the Cooking Level
Your Vitavit® allows you to select between four cooking settings
Cooking level 1: Gentle cooking level, approx. 230 °F (110 °C), 45 kPa
of operating pressure for very delicate foods, such as fish and tender
vegetables.
Cooking level 2: Quick cooking level, approx. 235 °F (113 °C), 60 kPa of
operating pressure for delicate foods, such as vegetables.
Cooking level 3: Express cooking level, approx. 241 °F (116 °C), 75 kPa of
operating pressure for all other dishes, such as meat dishes and stews.
