8. ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT

9. CLEANING
Remove any general contamination with a soft cloth damped in oil free oxygen
compatible soap water & rinse with clean water. Used cleaning solution shall
comply with oxygen cleanliness standards for oxygen devices (see chapter 3).
Disinfections can be carried out with an alcohol-based solution (spray or
wipes).
If other cleaning solutions are used, check that they are not abrasive and that
they are compatible the medical device materials (including labels) and gas.
Do not use cleaning solutions containing ammonia!
Do not immerse in water or any liquid.
Do not expose to high temperature (such as autoclave).
10. MAINTENANCE
10.1. REPAIR
Repair activities cover the replacement of the following damaged or missing
components:
• uick connector (probe),
• valve for fl ow adjustment.
The repairs shall be carried out by a GCE authorised person only.
Any medical device sent back to a GCE authorized person for maintenance
shall be properly packaged. The purpose of the maintenance has to be clearly
specifi ed (repair, maintenance). For medical device to be repaired a short
description of fault and any reference to a claim number might be helpful.
Some repair activities concerning to the replacement of the damaged or
missing components can be carried out by a provider / user of the medical
device.
The following parts can be replaced only:
• caps,
• handwheel label,
• hose nipple (including o-ring),
• handwheel.
All labels on the equipment must be kept in good, legible condition by the
provider and user during the entire life time of the device.
