C. TUBE WITH THE FLOAT
The adjusted fl ow is visible on the calibrated tube (l/min) via the fl oat. When
constant fl ow is adjusted, the fl oat is stabilized in a certain position on the
scale.
D. USER OUTLET
The "fl ow outlet" user connection is usually provided with a connection for a
hose (hose nipple) or is provided threaded (for humidifi er).
This outlet is for supplying a gas fl ow atmospheric pressure directly to a
patient, e.g. through a cannula or a facemask.
The fl ow outlet shall not be used for driving any medical device.
Note also that the medical devices colour (especially for the handwheel) might
not follow any coding for gas colour.
Detailed information about the performance and technical data related to
your device can be found in Appendix Nr. 1. Appendix Nr. 1 is in form of
symbols. Explanations for the symbols are available in Chapter 12 - Glossary.
6. INSTALLATION

7. OPERATION
7.1. BEFORE USE
VISUAL INSPECTION BEFORE FITTING
• Check if there is visible external damage on the medical device (including
medical device labels and marking). If there are signs of external damages,
remove it from service and identify its status.
• Visually check if the medical device is contaminated; if needed, use the
cleaning procedure detailed in this instructions for use.
• Ensure the valve for fl ow adjustment is completely closed (turning clockwise).
When closing don´t use an excessive torque (max. recommended closing
torque is 0,4 Nm).
• Ensure that the connected hose nipple or humidifi er to the outlet has
correct dimensions.
The medical device is dedicated only for use with the gas specifi ed on its
labelling. Never try to use for another gas.
FITTING TO MEDICAL GAS PIPELINE SYSTEM TERMINAL UNITS OR TO
MEDICAL REGULATOR
• The Tube fl owmeter shall be connected only in a defi ned position – tube
up.
FUNCTIONAL TEST
• Check that there is a gas fl ow when turning the handwheel (for instance,
by listening of the sound of gas fl ow or checking presence of bubbles in
a humidifi er).
