Identifying the Product

Every product is identified by a name plate. It shows the model ("Typ"),
the serial number ("Geräte-Nr."), and the manufacturer. The first two
digits of the serial number represent the year of manufacture.

Understanding the Machine

3.1

General Information

This butt-welding machine for plastics can be used only indoors as a
workshop installation, for jointing straight pipe to straight pipe or
segmented bends, but also for making tees, Y branch-offs, and cross-
pieces (see also Sect. 3.4 and 5.1, 5.2 for more detailed information).
The machine enables welding according to two modes, the Manual
Mode and the Data Logging/Report Generation mode, or Weld Control
Mode for short.
For your convenience, the machine can be specifically costumized and
tailored to a user's needs in its Configuration Menu (see Sect. 4.4).
3.2 Contents of Shipment, Specifications, and User Controls
The explications below are meant to contribute to a clear under-
standing of the designations used in this manual for referring to the
machine parts.

3.2.1 Included Components

• Workshop butt-welding machine up to O.D. 400 mm, including
LH/RH master pipe clamp assemblies O.D. 90 - 400 mm
• Assembly with movable electrical heating element with anti-stick
coating and electrical facing tool
• Automation control unit with input/control arrow keys
