• Wiring regulations by mains power suppliers, VDE provisions,
DIN / EN standards, and applicable national laws have to be re-
spected.
• Without prior authorization by the manufacturer, modifications
to the product are unacceptable.
Parts Under Power
After opening the machine, wiring panel, control terminal or
removing their cover, parts are accessible that may be under
Caution power. They may be opened exclusively by an authorized
service shop.
Facing Tool
Start the facing tool only after it was inserted into its working
position. When facing component butts, do not wear jewel-
Caution lery; if needed, wear a hair snood or net. It is forbidden to
remove shaving from the machine while the facing process
is running. Make sure nobody is present in this danger zone.
Heating Element and its Housing
When working with the machine, be extremely cautious while
the heating element is operating. Since it and its housing
Caution guard present a very high temperature during the welding
process, it must not be operated if unobserved, and suffi-
cient distance to combustible materials in its surroundings
has to be ensured. Do not touch the heating element or the
its housing. Bear in mind that the heating element and the
housing will remain hot for a while after it was turned off.
Danger of Bruises and Injury
Do not remain in the danger zone while the machine car-
riages move apart or close in, and be sure not to have your
Caution arms or legs between the carriages of the machine.
Acceptable Work Conditions
The work zone has to be clean and has to have proper light-
ing. It is dangerous to operate in a humid environment,
Caution or close to flammable liquids. In regard of this, acceptable
work conditions have to be ensured. In particular, heating
up the heating element with combustible and/or flammable
substances in its surroundings is prohibited.
Power Supply Only to Machine When Ready to Use
The machine must be connected to mains power only when
it is fully installed and ready for operation. It has also to be

operated only with a power supply as described in Sect. 3.2
below, as a differently wired power supply may cause severe
machine damage. If the machine is operated through a
power supply set up otherwise, this will void any and
all warranty and liability for the product.
User's Manual
The User's Manual has to be available at any time on the
site where the product is used. If the User's Manual becomes
incomplete or unreadable, replace it without delay. Feel free
