Instructions for use and care
G
Cleaning and care:
• After use, clean the roaster, lid and Saft-O-Matik as soon as possible by hand using hot dishwater and then dry.
• If the Saft-O-Matik is extremely dirty, simply pull the metal retainer from the lid and clean the individual parts.
You can also use the dishwasher to do this. If it is very dirty, add a packet of baking powder to boiling water and
soak the Saft-O-Matik in this over night.
• After cleaning the roaster and before using it again, smear it with a little neutral cooking oil.
Please note the following when using the Saft-O-Matik:
• Fill the Saft-O-Matik with at most 150 ml of liquid.
• Do not pour any lumpy liquids into the Saft-O-Matik (e.g. which contain large pieces of herbs or vegetables,
etc.) or which tend very much to caremalize (such as honey, syrup, liqueurs, etc.).
• If required, pour stocks or broths through a fine strainer beforehand. Completely dissolve sugar, honey, syrup
and liqueurs beforehand, e.g. in water/wine, or use these liquids to thin them (at least in a ratio of 1:2).
Information for stainless steel roasters
• Wash the roaster (and accessories) thoroughly before using it for the first time. This will remove any remaining
polishing dust and minor impurities. After use we also recommend you clean the roaster with Fissler Stainless
Steel Care.
• Stainless steel roasters are dishwasher-proof.When cleaning your roaster in a dishwasher, only use conventional
household products in the dosage recommended by the manufacturer. Never use industrial detergents or highly
concentrated cleaning agents. Discolorations of the handles or base which may occur over time will not impair
the way your roaster works.
• To clean by hand simply use hot water with a normal dishwashing liquid and a cloth, sponge or soft brush. Then
dry immediately to avoid any water spots. Do not use hard objects, steel wool or scouring powder. Soak obsti-
nate food residues beforehand. You can remove stubborn food residues with the Fissler Stainless Steel Cleanser.
• You can achieve a constant shine using Fissler Stainless Steel Care. This product is also ideal for removing white
or iridescent discolorations.
• Only turn the heat of your cooktop to high to heat up the roaster.
• In order to avoid overheating, do not heat your roaster at the highest setting for longer than two minutes when
it contains no food or liquid. In the event of overheating, the base may become discolored. However, this will not
affect how well the roaster works. In certain extreme cases of overheating, the aluminum in the base may melt
and liquefy. In that event, never remove the roaster from the stove: otherwise, there is a risk of burns caused by
hot aluminum spillage.Turn off the burner and allow the roaster to cool down on the burner.
