7.4.1 Checking the hydraulic oil level

Checking the hydraulic oil level and adding
hydraulic oil
Requirements
– Park the truck on a level surface.
– Prepare the truck for maintenance and repairs
((see "Preparing the truck for maintenance
and repairs" on page 187)).
– Open the panel, (see "Opening the rear panel"
on page 187)
Procedure
• Visually inspect the hydraulic oil level on the
hose.

If the reservoir is filled sufficiently, the hose will
be full approx. 1 cm from the bottom.
• Add hydraulic oil if through the oil filler
neck (180) until the oil can be seen in the hose.
The hydraulic oil level is now checked.
CAUTION!
The use of unsuitable hydraulic oils can cause damage
Trucks with bio hydraulic oil have a warning notice on the hydraulic
reservoir: "Add hydraulic oil only".
Use only BIO hydraulic oil.
7.4.2 Replacing the hydraulic oil filter
Replace oil filter
Requirements
– Park the truck securely, (see "Parking the
truck securely" on page 99)
Procedure
• Unscrew the hydraulic oil filter cap (181).
The filter element is located on the cap.
• Replace the filter insert; if the O ring is damaged it will also need to be replaced.
Apply a thin layer of oil to the O ring on assembly.
• Refit the cap with the new filter element in place.
