7.2.2 Release the parking brake.
WARNING!
Uncontrolled truck movement
When the brakes are released the truck must be parked securely on a level surface,
since the brakes are no longer effective.
Do not release the parking brake on slopes or inclines.
Apply the brake again when you reach your destination.
Do not park the truck with the parking brake released.
Release the parking brake.
Requirements
– Turn the Emergency Disconnect switch and
key switch off.
– Disconnect the battery.
– Prevent the truck from rolling away.
– Remove the floor plate by undoing the floor
plate mounting screws.
Tools and Material Required
– Auxiliary tool (174) removed from the document compartment in the backrest of the
truck.
Procedure
• Place the auxiliary tool (174) on the lever (172) with the recesses (173)
(chamfer (175) facing the operator).
• Pull the lever (172) forward (forks direction) or backward (towards the operator
position) and lock it in position. The lever should engage. The drive wheels are no
longer blocked / braked by the brake.
• Tow the truck to its destination using the pull rod.
The truck has now reached its destination.
Applying the parking brake
Procedure
• Place the
lever (172)
(chamfer (175) facing the operator).
• Restore the lever (174) to the centre "travel
position". The drive wheels are no longer
blocked / braked by the brake
• Assemble the floorboard.
Park the truck securely.
