Check the gear oil level

CAUTION!
Consumables and used parts are an environmental hazard
Used parts, oils and fuels must be disposed of in accordance with the relevant
environmental protection regulations. To change the oil contact the manufacturer's
customer service department, who have been specially trained for this task.
Note the safety regulations when handling these materials.
Check the gear oil level
Requirements
– Park the truck securely, (see "Parking the truck securely" on page 99)
Tools and Material Required
– Oil sump
Procedure
• Place the oil sump underneath the transmission
• Unscrew the oil dipstick (184).
• Check gear oil level, top up if necessary through the filler hole (183).
Z
The oil level should reach the bottom mark of the oil check hole (184).
The transmission oil level is now checked.
Draining the oil
Procedure
• Drain oil at operating temperature.
• Place the
transmission
• Unscrew the oil drain plug (185) and drain
the transmission oil.
Z
To ensure swift and complete draining of the
transmission
dipstick (184).
The oil is now drained.
Adding oil
Procedure
• Insert the oil drain plug (185).
• Unscrew the oil control screw (184) and add new gear oil in the filler hole (183).
The oil has now been added.
