7.4.2 Four-way Chest Strap / Chest Belt
(only for Recaro® seats)
WARNING
Risk of injury due to improper use of the four-way chest
strap. The four-way chest strap/chest belt helps to addition-
ally stabilise the person sitting in the power wheelchair. The
four-way chest strap/chest belt must never be used as part
of a restraint system for transportation of the person in mo-
tor vehicles for the disabled.
If the C2000 power wheelchair is equipped with a Recaro®
seat, there is the possibility of retrofitting a four-way chest
strap or chest belt.
The four-way chest strap / chest belt makes it possible to
restrain the patient in the C2000 power wheelchair. The
lower strap should be placed between the pelvic bone and
thigh, and should not be too tight. The belt buckle is positioned
at the front of the body, in the centre. The shoulder straps
should be positioned evenly on both sides on the thorax, and
should not be too tight.
Applying the Four-way Chest Strap / Chest Belt
1. To close the four-way chest strap, connect all parts of the
belt buckle. The belt buckle must snap in place audibly.

2. Verify that the belt has locked by trying to pulling it apart.
The four-way chest strap / chest belt should not be too
tight on the body. Objects caught under the belt can cause
painful pressure sores.
Changing the belt length
To increase the length of the belt, turn the buckle by 90° and pull.
To reduce the length of the belt, pull the overhanging belt end.
7.4.3 Adapter for Headrest Mounting Kit
(Standard Seat, Contour Seat)
The power wheelchair can be equipped with an optional
headrest. An adapter for attachment of the headrest mount-
