Drive chain lubrication
The chain consists of many parts w h i c h work
against each other. If the chain is not main-
tained properly, it will w e a r out rapidly.
W i t h o u t lubrication the chain could wear out
within 1,500 k m ; therefore, form the habit of
periodically servicing the chain. This Service
is especially necessary w h e n driving in dusty
conditions.
1. U s e any of the many brands of spray
type chain lubricant. First, remove dirt
and mud from the chain w i t h a brush or
cloth and then spray the lubricant
b e t w e e n both rows of side plates and on
all center rollers. This should be per-
formed every 1,000 k m .
