Maintenance / Disposal

At certain intervals, maintenance work and function controls that ensure trouble-free operation and
roadworthiness for a long time, must be carried out.
Engine vibrations and shocks during drive operation can loosen parts and screw connections.
Therefore, check before each use:
- The tight position of wheel nuts and of all screw fittings;
when replacing screws, secure the latter with screw-lock-laquer
- the secure position of the servo control lever on the servo shaft
- the position and the state of fuel hoses and air filter
- the laying of cables
Also check the charging state of the rechargeable batteries of the transmitter and the receiver
Fuel system, engine
- Impurities must not get into the tank or in the carburettor and / or certainly not in the engine
. Such impurities can cause misfiring under load or a bad idle speed setting
. In the worst case a foreign body between cylinder lining and piston can result in a stuck piston or a piston seizure.
For safety purposes, mount a fuel filter between tank and carburettor, in order to filter existing suspended
particles out of the fuel.
- Always use fresh fuel and keep the tank lid firmly shut.
Air humidity decreases the output of the fuel and causes the engine to run incorrectly; it also causes corrosion in the engine.
- Empty the tank if you do not use the model for several days.
The loose components of the fuel evaporate.
This causes the mix to become richer and oil can settle and block pipes.
- In case of longer drive pauses, e.g. "to overwinter", put  – 3 drops of preservation oil (accessories) in the cylinder
- Make sure that fuel pipes sit correctly and that they are installed as straight as possible.
- Check the fuel filter and the suction head of the membrane pump occasionally for dirt and
- clean the filter or replace it.
Engine
- Check the compression by turning the motor shaft.
Plug
- Check the electrode clearance and the state of the glow plug
The electrode clearance increases through natural combustion and must be checked occasional-
ly with a feeler gauge and if necessary, must be readjusted. The set point is 0.7 mm.
Plug is sooted or coked:
- clean the plug with a brass brush and compressed air.
Plug is oiled:
- Wash the spark plug with a degreasant or with petroleum ether and dry it with compressed air.
In both cases make the mix leaner.
In case of doubt, replace the plug.
Before (re) inserting the plug clean the plug seat and check the joint washer.

Air filter

The air filter prevents the penetration of dirt into the engine via the intake air.
Particles which penetrate via the intake air and settle between cylinder line or piston cause the piston to get stuck or piston seizure which damage the
engine and could have consequential damages in the main drive.
Close the choke valve before starting to work on the air filter in order to prevent dirt from penetrating into the carburettor.
- Remove the cover of the air filter housing and
- remove the foam insert.
- Clean the foam insert with petroleum or low viscosity machine oil (air filter oil, accessories).
If you want to clean the foam insert with a detergent and water, then rinse it thoroughly afterwards
Soap residues could get into the engine and damage the lubricating film.
Oil the air filter afterwards with air filter oil.
- Clean the air filter housing with a brush or with a moistened cloth.
Never drive without air filter!
