Set-Up
Mechanical lowering
To lower the chassis, besides setting the spring preload, there is also the possibility of a mechanical
limitation of the suspension travel. To this effect, you can insert at the front a headless screw respectively
from the top into the lower transverse links, which rests against the chassis.
At the rear, the headless screws are located in the upper transverse links and rest against the differential
housing.
Ackermann Effect
To adjust the progressivity of the steering angle or the Ackermann effect, the steering links can be reset
to other steering points in the steering arms.
Fail-safe
For maximum operating reliability, you can equip the model later on with a failsafe electronic. The latter must be placed between the receiver and the
desired servo (recommended: (throttle/brake servo).
In order to enter the fail-safe Set-Up mode, you must keep the Set button pressed down before and while your switch on the transmitter and the
receiver. The blinking red LED indicates that now a fail-safe setting for the servo can be selected in case of a malfunction of the radio contact.
-
Place the connected servo via the remote control in the desired position and
-
actuate the latter by pressing the set button once more. The selected position is now saved.
In case of a malfunction of the radio contact, the servo moves in the selected position.
Undervoltage protection
The blinking green LED indicates that now a setting of the undervoltage protection for the rechargeable battery of the receiver can be
selected.
When the minimum voltage is exceeded, the servo moves into the fail-safe position.
The Set button must not be pressed.
Press the Set button once:
Press the Set button twice:
Press the Set button thrice:
As long as the fail-safe gets valid input signals, the output of the fail-safe follows this input.
In case of a fault in the radio transmission, the output goes into the selected fail-safe mode. The fail-safe mode is reversible, i.e. as soon as a radio
contact is restored, the model reacts normally again to the control commands.
If an undervoltage protection was selected (setting 1 or ) and if the minimum voltage of the rechargeable battery of the receiver was exceeded, the
output of the fail-safe goes into the fail-safe mode permanently.
Transverse Stabilisers
To reduce body roll of the vehicle when going through bends, the model can be equipped later
on with transverse stabilisers.
A transverse stabiliser is made of a u-shaped curved spring steel wire, which is at both ends
connected with one of the lower transverse arms via ball-shaped heads. For this reason, two
steering points for the ball-shaped heads are provided. In the centre, the wire bracket is moun-
ted to rotate on the differential housing. The boreholes for the mounting are also provided.
When one wheel is deflected, the other wheel is then also deflected via the bracket. The trans-
verse stabiliser also supports the effect of the oil-dampened shock absorber when the wheel is
rebounding, since the restoring force of the wire bracket supports the rebounding of the shock
absorber (against the friction in the piston).
In this way, the wheel remains in contact with the ground in every situation.
