2. Check the air filter cover (6) for holes or cracks. Re-
place any damaged insert.
3. Remove the air filter (6b).
4. Wipe off dirt on the inside of the filter housing with a
clean moist cloth. Make sure that no direct enters the
opening. Set the air filter cover (6) on the filter housing
for the duration of the filter cleaning process.
5. Remove the air filter (6b). Check it for damage and re-
place it if necessary.
6. Knock the air filter (6b) against a hard surface to re-
move the dirt. Never try to brush the dirt out as this
will press it into the fibres.
7. If necessary, clean the air filter (6b) additionally in
warm water and mild soap solution. Rinse it thorough-
ly with clean water and let it dry well.
8. Reinsert the clean air filter (6b).
9. Put on the air filter cover (6) and secure it with the
wing nut (6a).

Cleaning / replacing the spark plug
(7a) (Fig. 7)
ATTENTION
Only replace the spark plug when the engine is cold!
ATTENTION
A loose spark plug can overheat and cause damage to
the engine. Tightening the spark plug too much can
damage the thread in the cylinder head.
Check the spark plug for dirt for the first time after 20 op-
erating hours and clean it with a copper wire brush if nec-
essary. Then service the spark plug every 100 operating
hours.
1. Remove the spark plug (7a)
with a spark plug wrench (10).
2. Remove any dirt from the base of the spark plug (7a).
3. Visually inspect the spark plug (7a). Remove any de-
posits present using a copper wire brush.
4. Check the spark plug gap. Use a feeler gauge to ad-
just the electrode gap to 0.6-0.7 mm.
5. Replace the spark plug (7a) and take care not to tight-
en it excessively.
Use a spark plug wrench (10).
6. Then place the spark plug connector (7) on the spark
plug (7a).
12.2.4
Drain fuel with a fuel extraction pump
(Fig. 4)
1. Hold a collection bucket under the hose on the fuel
extraction pump.
2. Open the fuel filler cap (2a) by turning it anti-clock-
wise.
The fuel filler cap (2a) is connected to an anti-loss de-
vice in the fuel tank (2) and therefore cannot fall off.
3. Push the hose of the fuel extraction pump into the fuel
tank (2) and drain out the fuel tank completely using
the fuel extraction pump.
4. Seal the tank cover (2a) again by placing it straight on
and turning it clockwise.

12.2.5
Check the fuel filter if necessary. A contaminated fuel fil-
ter hinders the fuel supply.
1. Always clean the area around the fuel tank cap (2a)
before filling to prevent dirt from falling into the fuel
tank (2). Use a dry, lint-free cloth for this purpose.
2. Turn the chain oil tank cap (2a) anti-clockwise and
open it. The fuel filler cap (2a) is connected to an anti-
loss device in the fuel tank (2).
3. Remove the fuel filler cap (2a) by feeding the attached
anti-loss device through the tank opening.
4. Pull the fuel filter out through the tank opening using a
wire hook.
– With light contamination:
Remove the fuel filter from the fuel line and clean
the fuel filter in cleaning solvent.
– If heavily soiled:
Replace the fuel filter.
5. To remove the fuel filter from the fuel line, squeeze
the hose clamp and slide it down.
6. Remove the fuel filter from the fuel line.
12.2.6
Note:
Lubricate the gearbox every 100 operating hours.
Only add a small amount of grease. Under no circum-
stances overfill!
1. Remove the screw (9b) on the gearbox (9a) and apply
some grease.
Use a 4 mm Allen key.
2. Re-fit the screw (9b).
