DANGER
Danger of poisoning!
Only use the product outdoors and never in closed or
poorly ventilated rooms.
Any work not described in this operating manual must be
performed by an authorised specialist workshop only.
10.1
Start the engine (Fig. 5)
ATTENTION
Do not let the pull starter whip back in. This can re-
sult in damage.
In case of cool weather, it may be necessary to re-
peat the starting process numerous times.
NOTE
If the engine is being started for the first time, several
tries are required to start until the fuel has been deliv-
ered from the tank to the engine.
WARNING
If the tool attachment is not fitted correctly, this can re-
sult in serious accidents! Before starting work, check
that the tool attachment inserted is firmly seated.
Notes:
• Before switching on, make sure that the product does
not touch any objects.
• The speed can be steplessly controlled by the throttle.
The further you press the throttle, the higher the
speed.
• Loosening the throttle brings the engine back into
idling and the tool attachment stops. The tool attach-
ment must not rotate or move while idle!
• Hold the product with both hands during the work.
Grasp both handles.
• Check the fuel level.
• The tool attachment must be able to run freely.
• Switch the engine. off and pull off the spark plug con-
nector as soon as you leave your workstation.
10.1.1
Starting a cold engine
Note:
With high outside temperatures, it may be necessary to
start the engine without the choke even when the engine
is cold!
1. Remove the protective cap (8e).
2. Press the fuel pump "primer" (3) 10x.
3. Set the choke lever (5) to the " " position.
4. Start the engine with the pull starter (4).
To do this, pull the handle out approx. 10-15 cm (until
resistance is felt) and then pull firmly and quickly.
If the engine does not start, repeat the process.
5. Let the engine warm up for several seconds.
6. Set the choke lever (5) to the " " position.
7. The product is ready for use.
If the engine does not start even after several at-
tempts, read the "Troubleshooting" chapter.
8. Insert the earth auger (8).
9. Press the throttle interlock (1b) on the grip (1) and op-
erate the throttle (1c). The earth auger (8) rotates.

1. Remove the protective cap (8e).
2. Press the fuel pump "primer" (3) 10x.
3. Start the motor using the pull starter (4).
To do this, pull the handle out approx. 10-15 cm (until
resistance is felt) and then pull firmly and quickly.
If the motor does not start, repeat the process.
The product should start after a maximum of four
pulls.
If the product has still not started, repeat the proce-
dure described under 10.1.1.
4. The product is ready for use.
If the engine does not start even after several at-
tempts, read the "Troubleshooting" chapter.
5. Insert the earth auger (8).
6. Press the throttle interlock (1b) on the grip (1) and op-
erate the throttle (1c). The earth auger (8) rotates.
10.2
Switch off the engine (Fig. 5)
Note:
Allow the product to run for a short time (approx. 30 sec-
onds) switching it off so that the engine can cool down.
1. Release the throttle  (1c). The engine goes into idle
speed.
2. Set the on/off switch  (1a) to position  "0" and keep it
pressed in this position until the engine has come to a
standstill.
3. Disconnect the spark plug connector (7) from the
spark plug (7a) to prevent the engine from restarting.
4. Place the protective cap (8e) on the earth auger (8)
after each use of the product.

Some noise pollution from this product is unavoidable.
Postpone noisy work to approved and designated times. If
necessary, adhere to rest periods.
