5. Align the hole in the Extension Stop with the
fastener hole below using the tip of the hex
wrench.
6. Insert then tighten the Extension Stop
fastener.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the other 3 extension
stops. Each knee brace has two extension
stops, one on the outer and one on the inner
hinge.
8. Repeat steps 1-7 untill the desired opening
angle is achieved.
4. HINGE PADDING
Out of the box, this knee brace comes with the 5mm Hinge Padding (12) already fitted.
Additionally, there are four 3mm Hinge Pads, four hook and loop Hinge Spacer Pads and
four pre-curved Frame Padding Spacers (All available as a replacement part kit, see section
5).
If the user finds the knee brace too tight with the standard fitment 5mm Hinge Padding,
they can replace it with the 3mm Hinge Padding for a looser fit. Alternatively, they can
build up a custom thickness to achieve a tighter fit by combining the Hinge Padding with
the hook and loop Hinge Spacer Pads.
The Hinge Padding is changed as follows:
1. Lift and pull the Hinge Padding (12) taking
care not to separate the Knee Cup System
(5) hinge hook pad from the hinge.
2. As a precaution after removing the Hinge
Padding, firmly press on the Knee Cup
System (5) hook pad to ensure it is seated
properly on the hinge.
3. Attach the new Hinge Padding or the
combination of Hinge Spacer Pads, ensuring
the pads are positioned centrally over the
hinge mechanism and press down firmly to
secure it in place.
4. Users who notice a small gap between the
side of the knee and the Frame Padding
below the knee can install the pre-curved
Frame Padding Spacers between the Lower
Frame (9) and Lower Frame Padding (13) to
effectively close this gap for an optimized
secure fit.
5. Always ensure the pads are securely
fitted by pressing down firmly on the new
Hinge Padding and/or Hinge Spacer Pad
combination.
