12 Operating the transmitter
12.1 Inserting batteries/rechargeable batteries into the transmitter
Slide the battery compartment cover on the underside of the

transmitter backwards in the direction of the arrow to open it.
Insert the 3 AA/Mignon batteries (or 3 rechargeable batteries) us-

ing the inscriptions inside the battery compartment, paying atten-
tion to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-).
Given that rechargeable batteries have a lower output
voltage, we recommend using the transmitter with non-
rechargeable batteries only for reasons of service life and
operational safety.
Using rechargeable batteries would cause the transmitter to show an insufficient operating voltage (red
"RX" LED on the transmitter flashes) after a relatively short time.
Close the battery compartment again.

12.2 Switching the transmitter on/off
Switching on
Place the vehicle on a suitable surface so that the wheels can turn freely.

Press the on/off button (see fig. 1, pos. 6); the "RX" LED lights up red permanently, and the "TX" LED flashes

green. You can then switch on the vehicle. When the transmitter connects to the receiver in the vehicle, the "TX"
LED lights up green permanently. The vehicle now responds to the transmitter's control signals. If the "RX" LED
flashes red, the batteries/rechargeable batteries in the transmitter are empty and must be replaced.
Switching off
Stop operating the vehicle and then switch off the speed controller. Remove the drive battery from the vehicle

during longer breaks in operation (or if you need to transport/store it).
Then switch off the transmitter by pressing the on/off button (see fig. 1, pos. 6). The LEDs on the transmitter go off.

Remove the batteries/rechargeable batteries from the transmitter if you are not going to use it for a long time (e.g.

during winter storage). Leaking empty batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause damage to the metal contacts
in the battery compartment, thus rendering the warranty/guarantee null and void!
12.3 Steering wheel for steering
The steering wheel controls the steering servo (fig. 1, pos. 1). Turning the steering wheel to the left (counter-clock-
wise) causes the vehicle to move to the left depending on the rotation angle; turning it to the right (clockwise) causes
it to move to the right.
The following transmitter controls affect the steering function and are described in the following sections:
"ST.TRIM" knob (fig. 1, pos. 11): set the steering servo to the middle/neutral position (or straight-ahead vehicle

travel), as described in section 12.5
"ST.RATE" knob (fig. 1, pos. 10): steering servo maximum deflection limitation, see section 12.6

"ST.REV" reverse switch (fig. 1, pos. 12): steering function reversal, see section 12.7
