Releasing and Locking the Brake

WARNING
Risk of death due to brake malfunction. Incorrect brake
settings can lead to brake failure, and therefore to serious
bodily injuries and even death. Repairs and adjustments to
the brake may only be carried out by authorised specialist
staff.
WARNING
Risk of accidents and injury due to lack of brake func-
tionality.
n No brake functionality is available when the wheel lock
is deactivated (push mode).
n When moving the power wheelchair on an incline, the
person pushing must provide the appropriate braking
force.
n The brake function may only be released in the pre-
sence of an attendant.
n Should the user be unable to release the brake himself,
the brake can be released by the attendant.

NOTICE
Risk of damage when parking the wheelchair with the
brake deactivated. Releasing the brake may result in un-
controlled rolling of the power wheelchair. Therefore, en-
sure that the brake is engaged after parking the power
wheelchair.
If the control unit fails or there is not enough battery power,
it is possible to push the power wheelchair by disengaging
the brake by means of the mechanical release mechanism.
The brake release is located on the opposite side of the
fuse / charging receptacle on the lateral frame.
Releasing the brake
For safety reasons, you first need to pull out the brake re-
lease bolt.
INFORMATION
When in this position, the brake must still be engaged!
Should the pushing function already be active at this stage,
please contact your wheelchair supplier.
